They may then suggest a visit to measure and look closely. Hours and availability vary by provider, so request a callback to check what is open near you.
What to Ask an Independent Provider
Ask before you sign. Here are questions worth keeping nearby, with what a good answer sounds like.
- Who will do the work? A good answer names whether it is their own crew or a subcontractor.
- What will the estimate include? Look for materials, labor, removal of old products, and cleanup.
- How do you handle wet or damaged wood behind the old window or siding? A good answer explains how they check and how extra work is priced.
- How long will it take? Expect a realistic range, not a rush.
- What paperwork do I get? Get it in writing, including warranty terms from the maker and the provider.
